Ohio State football already has the deepest wide receiver corps in the country. They’re only getting stronger with five-star Brandon Inniss committing.

Ohio State’s quest to take over the Wide Receiver U moniker once and for all is on track with their second five-star wide receiver commitment in two days.

On Tuesday, Brandon Inniss made his pledge to the Buckeyes, following in the footsteps of fellow five-star WR Carnell Tate, who committed on Monday.

“For the next 3-4 years I will be taking my academic and athletic abilities to THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY,” Inniss wrote on Twitter along with thanks to God, his parents, his brother and sister, all the coaches and trainers who have guided him and all the college coaches who have recruited him.

Inniss was heavily linked to USC, with some Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports pointing to the Trojans. He also took a recent official visit to Alabama.

Ohio State football is giving Wide Receiver U vibes with Brandon Inniss

It can’t be overstated what a huge week it’s been for the Buckeyes’ receiver room. Tate is the No. 28 player and No. 3 receiver in the country, per 247Sports. Inniss outranks him at No. 18 nationally and No. 2 at his position.

Having those two join Ohio State in 2023 means reloading an already elite position group with the top possible talent.

Andrew Irvings of 247Sports compared Inniss to Jarvis Landry and heralded him as “one of the more college-ready wideouts to come out of the high school ranks in recent memory.”

This is yet another victory for Brian Hartline, who has recruited the WR spot at an incredible level. Since 2020 he has landed five five-star wide receivers from Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Julian Fleming to Emeka Egbuka and now Tate and Inniss. The former two are expected to anchor the 2022 receiver corps before moving on to the NFL just in time for the latter two five-star studs to take their place.
