Will Zalatoris has been a staple on major championship leaderboards over the past couple of years, but has the Wake Forest product ever won one?

If you’ve been watching major championship golf in recent years, you’ve seen quite a bit of Will Zalatoris in the mix. He’s been a staple on major leaderboards over the past few years as he’s really become a big-game hunter of the highest order.

However, some golf fans might be a little more casual viewers when it comes to the majors, which is just fine. But because of that, they might not be overly familiar with Zalatoris.

Given that and his contention in major championships, doing so again at the 2022 US Open, the question might arise whether or not he’s actually won one before.

Has Will Zalatoris won a major?

No, Will Zalatoris is not a major champion, though it’s not been for lack of contending.

Zalatoris finished at T6 in the 2020 US Open in his first major championship since competing early in his college career back in 2018. He then reeled off an incredible run as he finished second at The Masters in 2021, T8 at the 2021 PGA Championship, T6 at the 2022 Masters Tournament and then lost in a playoff to Justin Thomas at the 2022 PGA Championship.

Then, of course, he put himself in the final group at the 2022 US Open. The guy just shows up in the big moments.

Will Zalatoris career wins

Not only is Zalatoris not a major championship winner, he’s also not even a winner on the PGA Tour at this point in the 25-year-old’s young career. His lone professional victory came on July 4, 2020 at the TPC Colorado Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour. He’s contended several times in majors and otherwise but has yet to capture that elusive win.
